What Are You Praying For?

I greet each day upon my knees,

My thoughts conformed to prayer,

A God of mercies open ears,

I hope to meet me there,

I pray for love, hope, and peace,

To fill a world of stain,

The constant drip of blood and fear,

Keep seeking to proclaim,

The lives of those so easily tossed,

Among our distant shores,

At home we seek for answers,

To brave the turbulent storm,

In God We Trust,

A blood bought cross

Is written upon the grain,

The sand beneath our trodden feet,

Still reaches for resolve complete,

Within an open door.
