What are you reaching for?

I have learned that relationships are  the most important connections one can attain in life. I’m not  just  talking about marital relationships. I am talking relationships period. When we have good friendships, partners, and reciprocated love, all is well in our world. Do you know that God feels the same way when we show our love towards him. That he desires to feel our love towards him in the way that we desire to feel it from our love ones. Well he does.

God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son Jesus (John 3:16). He proved his love for us by staying on the cross that we might have life, and not only have life, but also live it in abundance. (John 10:10). Someone may be confused about what abundant life means. People are always talking about abundant life as if it refers to prosperity; well sometimes it very well may.  There are times when we experience the blessings of God in material things. The bible tells us about both the blessings, and curses in the eleventh chapter of Deuteronomy. So we know that there are blessings for obedience, and curses for disobedience; according to the word of God.

However, I believe that Jesus spoke of an abundance of more value. If you read the eleventh chapter of Hebrews, you’ll find that most of the matriarchs died without ever receiving the promise of God, but they remained faithful nonetheless. This tells me that there was something greater on the inside.

Perhaps he meant abundant Love, Joy, Peace, Health, Goodness, perfect eternal satisfaction in him. The abundance of  material things will only bring you a superficial or momentary satisfaction. I compare this superficial feeling to the times I have purchased a car. I was so happy to get a loan, and drive my brand new car off the lot. I called family members, and friends to tell them of my new purchase, but after the third month of making payments, it became a burden. The thief showed up. LOl!! My blessing was a temporary satisfaction.

God shows us love that is complete. It is not temporary are boastful. It is real ,  a genuine love lasting  for eternity. His love will never leave us nor forsake us. He promised us to be with us even until the end. He is reaching for you from heavens gate now. Why don’t you give him a chance, and reach back. God Bless.
