I woke up to the sun peering through my window, sat up on my bed, and asked God to bless my day. I turned on my television to get a fresh feed on traffic and weather. “It’s going to be a great one”, I said to myself. Then it happened. That dreadful call that every teacher hates…..YOUR CO-WORKER CALLS OUT! If you are a teacher you get my drift.
This unexpected broadcast could send your morning into a whirl of mass confusion. You began processing a backup plan. What activities do you have planned for the day?, which should you change?, materials etc, all while hoping that your challengers are in a good mood, or at best don’t show up. I’m sorry moms, but it’s real. This is just an example of how at any time unplanned detours can infiltrate your day.
The best solutions are always preparedness. If you are mentally and spiritually prepared nothing can interrupt your grateful approach to a day that has been given you. You can still have a Great Day! On days when I have more of a challenge I tell myself it’s only a test. Here is my chant, ” This is a test, this is only a test, please adjust your ATTITUDE”.
It works for me. It always helps me to process and release the negative energy, while focusing on what is positive about my workload. You may use it if you’d like, or you may want to come up with your own expression of words to chant. Understanding that you have no control over unexpected incidents, will assist in a calm approach in your journey! Just remember, it’s all in ANOTHER DAY’S JOURNEY.
