Have you ever gotten a phone call and on the other end you are being told to get dressed by a loved one or a friend? You then ask the question of where it is you might be going, to be told from the other end of the phone don’t worry, its a surprise. There is a deafening pause, then you decide to get dressed anticipating something exciting about to happen, but you are uncertain of what to wear because you don’t know where you are going.  You then dress in neutral attire, get down the stairs and into the car, where your love one further expresses to you about the exciting surprise awaiting you. Once you get to your destination, you enter the building and there you find a beautiful spread of delicious foods already for your enjoyment.

Well this is how God is with us sometimes. He calls us away on an exciting  journey filled with surprise and all he’s asking us to do is to trust him. I know, we find this difficult to do because we are not in control of the compass. Sometimes in life God will allow us to drive, but other times he will ask us to sit back and let him steer the wheel.  God will sometimes put a  detour in our path where we think there should only be a stop sign.

Many times the path we have carved for ourselves is not in his plan. He wants control of the compass, so that he can take us to a surprise destination filled with good things to eat. He has prepared a feast for us, and all we have to do is come along for the ride. He is saying trust me. Release the compass that you are so tightly gripping into my hand. I want to take you somewhere beautiful. I want to show you the surprise I have planned for you. Let go my friend. Allow him to take you to the feast he has prepared for you. I’ll guarantee when you reach your destination you’ll not be disappointed.
