As a child and even into young adulthood I have always been a very quiet person. I have been told I inherited this trait from my dad. Because of my quiet nature during my second year of high school I was presented with a challenge. Her name was Tippy. They called her Tippy because she walked on her toes. She was huge. I promise you she was about six feet two, and big boned. Tippy and I had a class together, and every time she came to class she would harass me. It’s called bulling. She would call me names, and speak of how she was going whoop me up after school and so forth. I never said a word to her.
I must admit, I was afraid of her. I only stood about five feet, and was a skinny little girl back in those days. Well one day Tippy came into the classroom, picked up a book and tossed it back to where I was sitting. The book hit me on the arm, and before she knew it I was on top of her head with a few double’s. Yep! She had shamed me for the very last time. In fact, she had become the joke around school for allowing such a small quiet girl to beat her up!
Needless to say after all the excitement we were both sent to the principles office where we were both given three days in house suspension for fighting. I didn’t care. All I could think about was Tippy finally knew who I was, and I would never be challenged by her again.
This is the same way we are challenged by the Giant’s in our lives, from our view they look big and intimidating, but we serve a Mighty and Powerful God, and from his view they are small and easily disposable. God has promised to take care of us. He would not have us fear. To fear means we do not fully trust him and subconsciously we are admitting that we do not believe that it is God who stands in battle, but rather we ourselves are strong and mighty. (Palm 24-8) The Palmist said, “Who is this King of Glory? The Lord Strong and Mighty, the Lord Mighty in Battle.”
God is wanting us to stand up to the GIANT, regardless of what type of GIANT it is, he wants us to believe that we can Take it, Conquer it, Climb it, Subdue it!! Tell it, it will submit to the power of God. Let the Giant know who you are, and then proceed with his plan.
He has given us instruction for every situation in his Word as an example of how to defeat the enemy. All we have to do is apply it. I believe it Works! If we will stand in faith, and speak life over our situation, I believe that God will work on our behalf and the GIANT” will FALL!! Amen.
