On the same day, when evening had come, he said to them, ” Let us cross over to the other side.” (Mark 14:27)

I have heard many references in my day pertaining to the other side, i.e., The other side of heaven,  or the other side of the mountain. However there is a journey that takes place in the crossing.

Sometimes we are not prepared for the spontaneous incidents that will occur on our journey. We are as the disciples who thought because of their experience they had everything under control, but found that in the midst of their journey, a storm came, and had they not been traveling with the Master, they would have surely perished.

I’d like to ask you who’s in your boat? Who’s on your journey with you? Of course we can see in the distance the trophy we have worked so hard to obtain, but it’s on the other side. We must cross perils to get it.

Everyone is speaking of purpose, but to walk with purpose there is a price, a process of development. You must cross water’s, climb a few mountain, and experience the valley…. development.  In other words you have got to go through the Rain, experience the Pain to get the Gain!

In there distresses the disciples called out to Jesus. They awakened him and said, ” Teacher do you not care that we are perishing?'(Mark 14: 38) Jesus was at peace asleep. He knew that he was Master of the storm, but yet tested their faith.

I can imagine they where tossed about the ship, that they encountered bumps, and bruises as the ship rocked from side to side, nonetheless God allowed it.  And when he had tested them, he walked to the edge of the ship and said, “Peace Be Still.” and the storm was calmed. God is well able to calm your storm. He is allowing the process of development to take place in your life. He is preparing you for your destination. He is testing your faith. If he is in the boat with you, know that all will be well. Amen.

God Bless
