SHOPPING FOR GEMS :)

I love shopping. 🙂 I don’t know many of us girls who do not. Shopping gives a woman the freedom and confidence men feel when they go hunting or win a game in sports. It’s more like she who gets to the mall first gets the first and the best crop. 🙂  Yes….. it’s conquering! We take ourselves to the shopping malls and we shop with confidence! Lol!! 🙂

We conquer as we seek the gems of cloth hanging on thin shapely wires created to hold them in place. We stream through rows of clothing, pushing back pounds to get to that one colorful piece, the gem we’ve searched for in countless stores, the one piece we believe will make us feel beautiful in our skin. Then…….we find her tucked just so between two  large coats, and now the hunt is over. However, shopping for us is never just about the clothes.

It’s about the other stuff….. like getting to see friends, catching up on family life, finding a cozy place to eat, and making plans for our next outing. After we have finished all the refined festivities, we feel safe, secure, and ready to go home….Lol….or maybe not 🙂

Well lately I am on a different hunt/chase for greater gems. It’s like I am on a quest for more understanding, more peace , more joy, more of embracing and living in the moment. We spend so much of our time caught up in tomorrow when we only have today. (James 4:13)

This is not to say that we should not plan for tomorrow, but to live in it robs us from the joys we could have if we would focus on the moments we presently have in today. (Matthew 6:25) I am to believe that we can have it all. We can have the peace, joy, and happiness that God says we can have in him, but not without pursuing it with expectation of finding it. “Seek and You shall find” (Matthew 7:7)

It is a way of being, not a way of doing. We can learn to do all the right things, but we must become them. We must become what is right. To be means that we will trust him in all things. It is believing him for the God  he is. Wow! That’s amazing! Everything goes right back to faith. That’s why he says the faith of a mustard seed. (Luke 17:6)  He’s an awesome God and I LOVE HIM 🙂 Amen.
